This song was written after Geoff & I got back from attending a music festival in Atlanta. We saw so many amazing artists and they all put on killer performances, but hardly anyone in the crowds were dancing or even moving at all. Most of them were on their phones, some filming the bands and some just sucked into their screens, none of them fully present. We even got recognized at one show by a guy who greeted us with, "you were those people who were dancing!" We respect all ways of enjoying music and remaining comfy at the same time, not everyone is cozy dancing in public and that's perfectly fine. What rubbed me the wrong way was the lack of attention, of any kind, people were giving to the artists. These musicians were on stage letting us witness their vulnerability and most people were refusing to reciprocate this by being vulnerable and present for the performance.
Long story short, as we were experiencing this phenomenon I wondered about huge festivals like Coachella......do the people there even dance, or are they also lost in the vortexes of their phones?
If anyone has been to Coachella and would like to answer this question we are on the edge of our seats.

lyrics
No one's dancing are they? Well I don't care.
We drove all this way, and there is hell to pay when we get home,
so for tonight I'll lose my fucking phone.
Are you even listening?
I don't think you're listening.
Why aren't you listening?
We should all be listening.
Do you feel that current, when you close your eyes?
Don't look at your screen, be part of the scene you say you bleed,
I promise this is what you need.
Are you even listening?
I don't think you're listening.
Why aren't you listening?
We should all be listening.
